I mentioned a little while ago that I've written an article that appeared in The Cairns Post last year. Well, if you have a look on page 13 of today's paper, you'll find my second-ever article, and it's all about the Cairns LAN scene. I even ask The Fridge himself a few questions!

Its time for LAN.......
Over the next month i want to gather as much support i can to organize a 50-100 person lan in the Cairns QLD Area. People from townsville, mackay etc are all welcome to become apart of this.
Reply to this thread with your thoughts and feedback. What day suits you better? How long do you want the lan to go for? How much would you be happy contributing? etc etc. Spread the word as much as you can.
Thank you and lets look forward to some lan action in 2010!

CairnsLAN is bringing Network Gaming back to the cairns area!
Network Gaming? I playz on the interweb!
Sure.. You can play games over the internet...
Sure.. It can even be fun at times...
But, Nothing beats having all the gamers in one room, and nothing beats playing against your friends when they are there in person!
There is lots of gaming happening, and lots of socialising with the "non-computer" competitions as well..
We are in the progress of organising "Event 1", our first event. Planning is well underway, with a date to be announced soon.
Event 1 is going to be limited to 120 Gamers, so when registeration opens up, GET IN QUICK!
The final competition list is to be announced soon, but at the moment it may involving the following games..
Call Of Duty 4
Battlefield 1942
WolfET
Quake 3
Warcraft 3
With more games to be played during the day..
